Letters w/ Friend - 3 June 2004

Hello again. It is interesting. Ricki had an accident in a vehicle where they gave her something to stop her contractions. She tends to blame that, imunizations, and all sorts of junk.

For my boy, it is simply biology. Jim is Bi-Polar and it is inherited. He also qualifies as ADHD.

Jim gets VA disability for the bp now. We had to fight for it, but finally got it. I lived with him for 5 yrs unmedicated. Currently, he is in IA with his family. We are separated, but as often as he calls and asks for money you couldn't tell! He wants to come home, but I see not real change and I balked on the phone last night when he said something about coming home. I haven't cried for two weeks. The kids haven't endured our fighting and his mouth. Hard to WANT that back. He is unmedicated and not in counseling. I don't think I want him to come back yet. He hasn't been gone quite a month. I think I need a couple! It stinks as I love him, and know his family will tell him to get lost soon (they were abusive and he has all sorts of abuse as a kid.) I don't go to IA as they do not like me at all. Called them too much on their behavior! His dad talks to me (both his folks are remarried), but I have little want to deal with any of them. His mother never wanted him to marry me and was furious that I was pg so soon. He's been married before. But financially we are both better off married - at least legally. I am filling my separation papers this week. I knew he'd go home and do something like this. His family blames me and says there is nothing wrong with him (but me). They are a big mess.

Is your oldest son on meds for the ADHD? If so, what?

Yes, I did get the photo. It was nice to SEE you all! So neat! :)

I am on VA disability for my back. Had to fight for that too. SSec doesn't want to give me anything and they are a big pain in the rear. I have not worked since 1992. I had hurt my back a couple of times before getting out. Then when it started getting worse I had a VA dr in TX tell me I had nothing wrong and to stop wasting his time, even though they actually hurt me when I was given the x-rays. So, I stopped going to VA. Then in 2000 I was having spasms that knocked me on my fanny! I would bend over and stay there! Finally went back. They did an MRI and found I have degeneration of the spine. Great! I am literally falling apart at the seams!

Now I have a new area in my back that is doing it and again I have a dr that doesn't want to do anything. Guess really since I have the disability (60%, but 100% benefits) that it is kind of pointless to get a new MRI as I am sure that is what it is. It stinks though to have a hard time picking up your child! Since my spine is falling apart it squishes the disks so causes the spasms etc. Fun!

I hope you are healthier than I am and doing well. You look very well in the photo. I will have to scan some on here.

They found today Ian seems to have some problems hearing out of the left ear. The right works well. But they also found on one test that he has trouble with if you just start talking vs getting his attention. This can change with age he says as he sees it a lot. It explains a lot, as the attention thing is an ADD trait as well as a Bi-Polar trait. They also have problems with retention - short term memory!

Ian is my sweet boy and I really was hoping this junk would miss him, but he was also the squishier one, and this year he started displaying violence towards his brother and it was really unlike him. Bummer.

Boy, I am rambling! Don't even know the time you have for listening to all this! I will let you go. Must get dinner around anyway! Have a good afternoon!

Sonya

Hey, did you get the pictures that I sent?

I work with Veterans all day every day......I am the Veterans Service Officer for Washington County, FL. I LOVE IT!! It is such a rewarding job. I serve as an advocate for Veterans, helping them file for benefits from the VA. I never realized how many Vets we have out there suffering with disabilities that they incurred while in the military. I see a lot of Vietnam Vets that are basically dying as a result of being exposed to Agent Orange. It's sad.....but it makes me feel good to know that I am trying to help these people.

This is a very valuable office because without it, alot of the Vets would not even know where to begin filing for disability. It makes daily life a little easier when you enjoy your job.

You know my oldest son was diagnosed with having ADHD and they also suspected him of being Bi Polar. I find it really strange that my child plus yours and Ricki's all have a nervous disorders. I wonder if we were exposed to something that would have caused this?
