Ian Airk M Dewey * October 2001
October 3 – Ian had a dry diaper today! He got a special sticker to wear after the usual dressing, brushing, and combing. Connor and I went o out with you to wait on the bus. You two decided to crush pecans on the porch; one of your favorite things to do!
You ate lunch after school watched a little Pooh and Magic School Bus and have been playing well with all sorts of toys. We briefly went to WM and he cried about his legs hurting, but I knew I couldn’t carry him through WM with my back today, poor guy. :(
We went to Hastings where we got U Robert a gift card for his birthday. Now he is playing again and we are waiting for Connor to come home.
You played play dough and didn’t like cleaning up the big mess! You were outside with Connor playing with occasional problems. We ate dinner and out again.
In for bath and a little TV then off to bed with tooth brushing, tinkle, and story.
? – We went to Las Cruces this am. A Joey is taking Connor to school and will get him and we should be home.
Ian and I arrived at the dentist and he went right in and got them cleaned. We got a new toothbrush and top. He has 3 small cavities which we will get fixed 30th Oct in the am.
We stopped for lunch at the big McD’s. He played a bit and we started home. Ian went to sleep and we had to stop for the missile shooting for a bit. We got home, got Connor, and went home.
Playing, bickering, usual routine! :)
Oct 4 – Ian got up about 1:30am sick. He threw up a bit and had a fever. Eventually he went back to sleep until about 6:50. He took a shower/bath and got dressed. He said he felt okay and went to school.
Ian is home. He came in and showed me his papers. We had lunch. The microwave dies, we think. We ran to KM to get wood glue to fix Mommy’s chair and Ian had a look at some toys.
We tried to fix the chair! Now you are watching Magic School Bus and I am trying to find out how to get to the Balloon Festival 2001!
Ian and I went out front to wait for Connor. We were counting apples. Connor got hom, they had an egg and cereal and Dada got home. He ran to hug Dada and be picked up.
Now both boys are playing outside and Dada is out there. Ian didn’t really feel like dinner, he has a fever. We took a bath and Mommy built a house with Ian and a car out of Lego’s. Then we brushed and went to sleep. I wasn’t feeling to well and went right to sleep!
October 6 – Balloon Fiesta 2001 Starts today! Ian got up at 8am. He is coloring, cutting, etc. and eating a waffle. I am about to get you dressed.
You played a bit. We built a garage for your cars, but when you and Connor kept fighting you both had to pick up. Then you, Connor, and Mommy went to A Joey’s to take U Robert his birthday present. We came home to get Dada and we are going to Golden Corral to eat lunch.
We saw A Joey and U Robert there so we sat with them; ate and came home. You were fussing with Connor and had to put the toys up. You watched part of a movie. When mommy wasn’t looking Connor cut up his pants! Ian is covered in colored ink from coloring. You are playing outside with Connor and we are waiting for church time.
No church. It was cancelled due to the Fiesta. You played outside, ate dinner, watched Gargamoth movie and went to bed. You are excited about tomorrow!
October 7 - As soon as Ian was up he was asking about the Balloons! He got so excited when they saw them on the TV. It is hard to wait at that age. We cleaned out the car and you helped carry stuff to the garage for me. You ate pudding (you got it yourself) and played with your remote car while I finished. You picked up trash from the garage. Then you, Connor, and I went to WM for a few things for the trip and to get gas.
We got McD’s on the way and now you and Connor are coloring. I am writing as Dada is driving! 11:57am.
We arrived early at the Balloon Festival. We walked around, got something to eat (cheeseburger and soda), and looked in shops. We bought a kite with money Keith sent for your birthday in December. They are a type of cloth kites. All colors and neat.
Then we had some popcorn and cotton candy and soda. The cotton candy was everywhere especially on Ian! :)
Finally they are putting up the balloons and lighting them. Finally! We walked around looking. There were not as many as I though, but then they had the fire works display. We had also gotten you and Ian a headband with alien heads that light up just before the balloon lighting.
After that it began to rain. We got ready to go. We got you both undressed and ready to sleep. You were whiney and not feeling too well. You didn’t eat anything too good. We got home, gave you your meds as you have caught Ian’s cold. Then you slept until the next morning without getting up. I hope you had a fun time! :)
October 8 – Ian was with Dad and I; not sure how long. He had a dry diaper! Special sticker today! :) He got dressed and had a bit of my milk shake. Grandma stopped by, but brother was acting badly; hitting you and she did not stay long. Hitting and fighting! Naughty!
Now you are watching Short Circuit 2. Then you built a nice garage out of blocks for your little cars.
We took a trip to town and got some library videos. You fell asleep watching Amazing Animals. “Henry” is in the green lizard videos. You demanded that I get up when you woke up!
We tried flying your kite, but it wasn’t windy enough. Now you and Connor are watching James and the Giant Peach.
You have been playing outside mostly except when you were playing “kitty cat”! (Drives me nuts!:) ) We had some spaghetti for dinner. You helped butter the bread. LOTS of butter! And now you are outside again. 30 minutes and then bath time!
Bath; 1 cartoon and you went to sleep after a bit of time.
October 9 – You crawled into bed about 10 until 6 am. You took a quick bath, and got dressed for school. You told Dada bye and went up front to wait for the bus. I held you for a bit and then you got on the bus and waved goodbye.
Connor and I picked you up. You were in speech. We stopped by A Joey’s and said hi and went to Las Cruces. You slept a bit of the way. You cried when you woke. You said your legs hurt and you had to pee! You were a bit cranky for a while.
We went in the office with Connor. We had to take him to the hospital to get his blood drawn again and he had to tinkle in a jar. Then we finally got to eat lunch. We went to Luby’s and you liked it. Mom about died at the $28 bill!
We went to a couple of stores looking for US items for Grandma. Then we got to A Joey’s for cake and ice cream for U Robert’s birthday.
Dada got to come as he is on suspension and looking for a better job. (The suspension was not his fault.)
Then you and Connor took a bath and watched a movie. Story time and sleep now. You coughed a lot and slept with us and later when Connor came in we laid on the couch!

October 10 – You were coughing and I wasn’t sure about school. You did go and Connor and I waved bye.
When you got home (you said hi to Connor on the bus), you ate spaghetti. Then you decided to eat the frosting off 2 cupcakes and left the cup cakes!
I was going to watch a movie (Planet of the Apes), and I asked if you wanted to watch it. You said, “Let me see.” You looked and saw a man kissing one of the apes and you said, “Ooh he’s kissing a monkey, yuck!” It was so funny to me!
You swung a couple of times and now you are outside waiting on Connor with me.
You and Connor played, had dinner, took baths, watched TV, brushed, and you were out like a light! You still aren’t feeling well.
October 11 – Dry diaper again! I worry if I put you in unders you will wake soaked. I think we will see how many days you are dry. I am VERY proud of you!
You were awake VERY early coughing; congested too. I gave you medicine and decided to get up. You sat in your recliner watching me do my Tae Bo exercises. You went back to sleep and I decided to let you sleep and rest today instead of sending you to school.
You played with your brother and grandma stopped by and put her cold hands on your belly!
I got Connor off to school and you ate lunch. After that you were unhappy with me as “I don’t like naps”. But you were out within 5 minutes and still are! Better to sleep it off!
Boy you did sleep a while more! But that is good. You are off to school tomorrow.
You had to stay in and you weren’t too happy. But after our “odds n ends” dinner you and I made some things with Lego’s. We had fun!
Then you had a bath, ate a snack, brushed, swished, and now are watching your last show before bed. Sweet Dreams, Baby! :)
October 12 – Well, the coughing got you up again, darn cold! I kept you home and called the doctor. He didn’t really help! After Connor went to school and Dada went to El Paso, you and I went to WM. We got some medicine and chicken for lunch. We came home to eat and now you are resting! Ooh it is cold out today!
You slept until Connor got home. You and Connor were outside while I was on the roof fixing the antenna. WOW! We have TV on PBS!
Anyway, nothing but the usual; dinner, bath, TV, stories. You took a little bit to go to sleep, but I think that is your cold. You slept until about 11, medicine time. Then you crawled in with us and later with me on the couch again. Communal bed!
October 13 – Dry Diaper! Sticker for you! Yah! :)
We were off early. We got a donut and burrito for breakfast and went to garage sales. We found some books and two pooh videos. Then we saw grandma briefly. She gave you .25 for gum and part of her breakfast too.
We came home and you and Connor took a nap.
I pretty well kept you in, as it was very cold out today.
You have played, had 2 pizzas for dinner. You took a bath and are watching James and the Giant Peach with Connor for the 20th time! 1 hour until bed. Sleep tight, Mommy loves you!
October 14 – Up at 6:30am. With a dry diaper! We went grocery shopping since we were up and then came home. Mommy isn’t feeling well today.
After Dada got up we went to WM again for Mommy to exchange her pants. (She lost 10 whole pounds! Yah!) We saw Aunt Tess too!
We went to see Grandma real quick and A Tess was there on her lunch break. Then we went to the library for some videos, got some lunch and came home.
You and Connor played outside while Dada was clearing out the plumbing pipe. Then you got Dada and Connor wet. You came in for your bath with Connor. Now you are eating and watching the Disney movie. After that it is off to bed! You go back to school in the morning.
PS Dada got you and Connor each a new pair of Velcro tennis shoes; Jurassic Park. You got T-Rex and Connor got Raptors.
October 15 – Boy you were up before the sun! You were so funny looking out the window at the lights, jumping around. “Mere Dad, Mere Dad”. You were jumping on him and Connor.
We got you dressed for school and off on the bus. You came home and had a bit of lunch. We had to make Dada and you each a big bowl of popcorn because they had some on Dragon Tales. I have your cold so I rested a bit and Dad swung you etc. You are and watched videos. Then I got up. You were flopping on me saying “Timber”! Then we picked up and Connor came home.
Now you and he are watching TV again!
You and Connor decided to make a huge mess with your Lego’s while I was getting the laundry. You both got into trouble and had an early bath. You also made a cookie and milk mess. It must have been your mess day!
October 16 – You were up and coughing pretty well at 4am, poor baby. I gave you some medicine and then we slept on the couch.
Time to be off to school. Today should have been your pumpkin patch day! I hope you have a nice one!
When school is out I will pick you up and we will go to Las Cruces for your brothers’ doctor appointment. I hope the last trip to Las Cruces for a while.
We arrived and ate at Burger King. You were unhappy because we had to leave and get to Connor’s appointment. You and he acted badly in the doctor’s office. I was feeling rotten and we went straight home. After that it was pretty much a usual afternoon and evening. You didn’t eat much dinner. Vick’s’ed you up, read, and to bed!
October 17 – You were up at 4:30 coughing badly. I went with you in your room my headache was hurting. We got up about 7am. And we got dressed for the buss and off you went!
You came home with a rash on your neck, belly and back. Mr. Mark had called to let me know. I am not sure if it is a reaction to the Vick’s, but not sure why you would react to it now. But I gave you a bath. You still have it so I guess I will take you to the doctor in the morning and perhaps on to school.
You have been rambunctious today; getting into trouble. You and Connor are watching Notre Dame. Love You!
October 18 – Well, we took you to the doctor and they gave you some medicine which we got from WM. You went to sleep shortly after I gave it to you. Connor went to school.
It is a bad day for us. Dada lost his job. It will be bad for a while, but GOD knows what is best!
You are up now. Haven’t touched your lunch yet! Eat! Connor came home and showed us his pumpkin. Very cute next to your two little ones!
You played with Connor and then went with Connor and Dada to town. Home to eat. Out side a bit more. Now you are playing Lego’s and had some sopapillas too!
October 19 – Last day this week. You slept all night, probably thanks to the itch medicine. You had a dry diaper, got dressed, brushed, and outside to wait on the bus! Off you go! Have a nice day! Love you!
You came home and I fixed lunch and you didn’t eat it. Mommy was so tired, I think from this cold, that I fell asleep. You played with toys and also decided to play with Vanilla pudding and got it on the carpet and your chair! Ornery!
You came and laid down by me and went to sleep and are still there. Your brother will be home soon.
October 20 – What a day! You got up and watched cartoons a bit. Your brother was told by his teacher to go to the Space Center. So, after eating bacon we ALL went to the Space Museum, which was free and then the Imax Theatre and saw a movie with popcorn and a soda. Connor doesn’t like the theatre, but it doesn’t seem to bother you.
When that was done we saw Grandma at the shop. I went in WM while you and Connor opened your “surprise” packages. We dropped off Dada (he is going to make pizza) and Grandma told us about a dog show in the park. It was a nice, busy day except you and Connor were at each other, especially in the car. Drives me nuts!
You played outside a lot this afternoon. You will have your runny nose and cough; can’t seem to get rid of it.
This evening Mommy has been grumpy, as you and Connor have NOT been listening very well. You pulled my clean laundry off the line and onto the ground. Later you were jumping around the yard in my clean pillowcases! Now we are about to read and go to bed. Mommy loves you anyway!
October 21 – Got dressed, cold medicine, and went to get papers for Dada and donuts. You said you were sick when we were in the car. I think it is cold drainage. We are at home now.
We went to the library in the afternoon and Mommy can’t remember what else! We got behind and I forgot!
October 22 – Up and at them and off to school! We worked on getting the house clean from wall board and put you and Connor in your proper room.
We had a time with his bed, but you sat in there, read, ate, and made you a sandwich with the mattresses with you in the middle! Funny boy.
I think you were pretty happy to have your bed off of the floor!
Dada got chicken and potatoes from the store for dinner. We went to see A Joey & U Robert back from vacation. They got you some books, a cute tiny train set that works well. Also some silly spray that you and Connor played outside. Poor U Robert had to pick it up, but you did help! Good boy! Regular evening. I love that!
October 23 – After you went to school I had to take Connor to the hospital for blood work. But he brought home part of his cinnamon roll and you ate it up!
You played with your little train. Dada worked on the house all day.
Your brother came home in a horrible mood and I am glad you handle all that so well. Thank you!
You played outside and always ask, “Will you please wing (swing)
me?”
After your dinner and bath, you watched Benji. You were ready for bed and I read you a story. You and Connor did decide to fight over pj’s earlier! Augh! Hard to make choices some times.
October 24 – To school with your construction worker hat. No drug week and you got to pick your favorite hat! We had lunch and you’ve been playing, eating, and for some eason are really whiney and crying. Not sure why. I keep asking! You are now working on a ice cycle. After Connor came home you both fought and played. Mommies oven wouldn’t work and so I had to save dinner and fry eggs and bacon. The usual evening and Asleep!
October 25 – You and Connor played while I exercised. Then you got dressed for school. Today was crazy sock day and you wore Dada’s brown zig zag socks!
You came home after Connor hugged and kissed you as you got off the bus. We went to A Joey’s. I fixed her new answering machine/telephone. They took us to lunch and we went to WM. Everyone is out of Connor’s medicine. We got gas, went to the bank and came home. You watched a video and now we need to get Connor! We got him and went to A Joey’s while I went to an appointment. We went home. You and Connor were biting and hitting, and ended up in bed one hour early!
October 26 – Mommy got up late, rushed about and got you ready for school. We picked three flowers and got them in your bag when the bus pulled up.
After school we all went to McDonald’s for lunch and you stayed with Dada while I ran Connor to school. Then we went to see some vans and to see Grandma at the shop. She made you and Connor each a pin: red, white, and blue, with your names and we came home. You were tired. We sat out front a bit, watched TV, and then out front for Connor’s bus. Now you are playing Lego’s and your brother is coloring and the alien movie is almost over.
October 27 – You slept later. You watched some cartoons and we went to WM for a donut. You were happy when PaPa came to fix the oven. You helped, talked to him, and drew him in picture. Then we had to go meet Dada at the lumber yards to see paneling and doors etc. Mommy made chili for dinner.
October 28 – Running, running. You and Connor and I went to Kmart this morning to look for pajamas. We got some, but they turned out to be a regular outfit instead and a sweat set. Later I got some clothes for me, and you and Connor played well. We went to get Dada who had been working on the house. We had pizza for lunch. You ate it all! You also helped push the jukebox buttons. We went to WM again and I found nice shirts for school for you and Connor.
After that we came home. Dada worked on the house and in the evening I BBQ’d steak for dinner. Now it is off to bed. With the time change you were out like a light! Mommy loves you!
October 29 – All weekend you asked about going to school and now you don’t want to go! We got you dressed after my exercises and e-mail. You and Connor were watching Scooby!
It was so warm you didn’t need a coat, but you wouldn’t give up your big TAZ coat! After school we went with Dada, Connor is at school, to store. You picked up some candy canes then we went off to lunch at Taco Bell. We went inside. Then we ran to a few more stores and home. Dada left for an appointment. Connor came home and you two decided to pain the garage with my big bottles of printer ink. I was so mad! You have a faded green face!
Now it is almost time for bed. Tomorrow you get your cavities filled! Night Night. Mommy loves you lots. XOXO
October 30 – Well you did not want to wake up today, but we had to go! We stopped in to see A Joey to get a cell phone. She gave you a teddy and Connor an owl to take with you. We got to the dentist early and did not get lost! You did fine. The first two fillings, then Dr. Triego hit a nerve and I heard you screech and cry! I hate that, it makes my heart go in my throat and I am sad my child is hurting and I can’t be there to help!
After she gave you a shot to numb it you finished up. You got two toys. We then went to eat at McD’s. You played and Connor and I ate! Then we went to two stores. We got a couple of things for your Christmas. Then we took Connor to his doctor appointment. You two just can’t behave!
We went to a couple of stores and then home. We picked up chicken from WM for dinner and I found a 6 ½ foot fiber optic tree we were looking for today. Came home home.
You two played. Dad worked on the house. Ate dinner, bathed. Now you two are watching Pooh in my room; play Lincoln Logs. Nearly bed time!
October 31 –You, Dada, and I went to Si Seniors for lunch. You took a nap until Connor got home.
Ian dressed up as Spiderman! I colored your face and Connor was a Power Ranger. We went to Betty’s house and then A Joey’s. A Joey gave you a Jack ‘o Lantern full of stuff!
We took Dada home (he was stressing). We went to EM and saw A Tess. We had a hot dog and soda, cleaned the car from all the snacks and went to the Boy and Girl’s club. You and Connor threw beanbags and hit golf balls for candy. We went home, washed up, and went to bed.
